Why do people believe in marriage?

You just said you would go with a few girls with casual commitment. Roll with it!! You don't have to get married. In some cases marriage is overrated... In other cases it is great. Just go with what you feel. Marriage is definitely not a fairy tale. It is hard and you have to work at it everyday. Sometimes one partner works at it and the other one doesn't. Why do people get married? I think because in the past, that was the only way to live together and be socially accepted. Now, things have changed and I have more couple friends that are not married and live together than married. Women have become more independent. Sometimes I think women (and men) feel they may lose their partner, but if they are married that seals the deal and this is not true.
