PCOS scan, what to expect?

The first part is external (transabdominal) and requires a full bladder so your uterus and ovaries can be seen. This gives an overview. Make sure you drink the water about 45 minutes - 1 hour prior to the exam so the fluid has time to get to your bladder. The internal (transl) is done with an empty bladder and is inserted like a tampon to give a clearer, more detailed image. It will take around 30 minutes overall and isn't bad. The l part may be uncomfortable but not painful.
