Murphy's Oil Soap to clean a saddle?

I just bought a used Tex Tan saddle that needs a good cleaning. I want to know if you'd recommend Murphy's Oil Soap. Also, what all do I need to do? Do I have to wipe it down before cleaning it? How much do I need to dilute it? Do I have to wipe it off after using it? Thanks!
