I want to run system recovery on my pc?

How to do system recovery (or any other action with the same result) without a system recovery disk. My pc crashed and i didn't create recovery disks or anything like that. The doesn't have system recovery either. I have a VAIO running XP. (IDK if that matters). Can anyone help? My PC says.. Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: System32\Drivers\Ntfs.sys
